Subaru Oizumi Factory

The Subaru Oizumi Factory, located in Izumi City, Gunma Prefecture, is a major project developed by Taisei Corporation. Gunma Prefecture is located at the northwest tip of the Kanto Plain, and is dominated by mountainous areas, except for the central and southeastern regions where most of the population lives. The Oizumi factory specializes in the production of automobile engines and transmissions, and has a built-up area of ​​238,000 square meters.

SUBARU, the automobile manufacturing division of Subaru Corporation (formerly Fuji Heavy Industries), ranked 21st in the world in terms of production volume in 2017. Subaru cars are famous for using a boxer engine layout in most vehicles over 1,500 cc, as well as symmetrical all-wheel drive drivetrains, which were introduced in 1972 and became standard equipment on most small and medium-sized cars in 1996.
