Ginza Itoya
The G.Itoya main store (G.Itoya) reconstruction project is located in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, and was completed in 2015 as the new flagship store of a long-established stationery specialty store. It is a steel frame structure (partially CFT construction) with 13 floors above ground and 2 floors underground, a total floor area of approximately 4,195 m2, and a height of approximately 56 m, and was designed and constructed by Taisei Corporation. Making the most of the narrow site (8m wide), we created a ``Galleria'' that runs from Chuo Dori to the back street, and in addition to selling stationery, we have evolved into an experiential commercial facility that includes a vegetable factory, cafe, rental meeting rooms, and more. This project uses a seismic isolation and damping structure to ensure safety by functioning as an evacuation space in the event of a disaster, creating new value in the city of Ginza.
